American Gardens – Pond Restoration

EcoVigour carried out a sensitive lake restoration at the CADW Grade II registered American Gardens in Pontypool, removing approximately 0.75 metres of accumulated silt from a 100 x 40 metre historic pond. Works were ecologically programmed to protect resident amphibian populations, with specialist plant and bog mat techniques used to preserve the integrity of the historic clay lining throughout.

Swindon - Wiltshire

Semi Mature Tree Planting — Havelock Square, Swindon Town Centre

Commissioned by Alun Griffiths Contractors on behalf of Swindon Borough Council, EcoVigour installed mature trees weighing three tonnes each into engineered structural tree cell systems at Havelock Square in Swindon town centre. Works were delivered within a live retail environment, with full pedestrian management throughout, and EcoVigour was subsequently retained on an ongoing maintenance contract.

Caldicot Castle

Emergency Call-Out: Limb Failure onto Vehicles — Country Park

When a major limb failed without warning at a busy country park event, coming down on two vehicles and injuring a member of the public, EcoVigour's arboricultural contracts manager was on the phone within minutes and had a team on site within the hour. Working with MEWP access and professional rigging equipment, the team secured the limb, freed the trapped vehicles, and lowered the limb to ground in a controlled manner — all within a live public environment.

Surrey Wildlife Trust - Various Sites

Reserves Network Programme of Biodiversity Enhancements — Surrey Wildlife Trust

Commissioned by Surrey Wildlife Trust under a five-year Defra, Coast to Capital, and National Lottery-funded programme, EcoVigour delivered a multi-site biodiversity enhancement programme across three reserves — including tern island creation at Spynes Mere, silt mitigation and habitat restoration at Godstone Ponds SSSI, and a grasscrete parking installation at Quarry Hanger Nature Reserve. Combined contract value: £485,000.

UWIC School of Art and Design, Cardiff

Japanese Knotweed Encapsulation, SuDS Drainage and Carpark Construction — UWIC School of Art and Design, Cardiff

Appointed by Willmott Dixon Construction at UWIC's School of Art and Design, EcoVigour delivered a complex multi-discipline package encompassing Japanese knotweed encapsulation, sustainable urban drainage installation, and the full construction of an 86-bay car park — including permeable block paving, street lighting, CCTV, parking infrastructure, and pedestrian access works. A strong early performance saw our scope extended from specialist remediation to complete civil delivery.

De-Vegetation, Fencing and Landscape Works — Stonehenge Visitor Centre, Wiltshire

Engaged by Alun Griffiths Contractors Ltd on behalf of English Heritage, EcoVigour delivered site clearance, fencing, landscaping, and ongoing maintenance works at the Stonehenge Visitor Centre. Working within one of the world's most visited heritage attractions, our team was commended for their professionalism and conduct — deploying combined conventional and hydroseeding techniques to achieve successful grass establishment late in the planting season.

Cardiff Castle

Cardiff Castle Mill Leat – Moat Desilting and Relining

EcoVigour undertook specialist desilting and geosynthetic clay relining works at the historic Cardiff Castle Mill Leat as part of a Heritage Lottery Fund restoration programme. Working in close collaboration with CADW, Cardiff Council parks officers, and the archaeological trust, we restored water to this key feature of Cardiff Castle's western wall for the first time in over forty years — while managing Japanese Knotweed and protecting the integrity of the scheduled historic fabric throughout.
